For a team that copies, prints and scans in colour, and sometimes reaches for A3, here is a machine worth weighing up. One to consider is the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3720i, an A3 colour photocopier that Canon rates at 20 pages a minute. You can have it renewed, close to new; refurbished, the grade most customers choose; or used, for the lowest outlay. Whichever it is, the page count comes in writing first.
Maker's own photoWithin Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3700 series, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3720i (first released in 2020) is the option at 20 pages a minute. Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.
The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.
Every machine is different, so you get its exact page count in writing before you buy. That number says far more about wear than the year it was built.
