Floor standing

Freestanding office copiers on the Gold Coast

When several people share one machine, a freestanding copier is usually the answer. It sits on the floor on a cabinet or paper deck, carries more paper, runs faster and has space for a finisher.

  • A3 and A4 models
  • More drawers, optional finisher
  • Delivered and set up for you
  • Serviced after installation

Desktop or freestanding?

Desktop models live on a bench or a cupboard and are right for small teams of up to five with light volumes. Freestanding models have two to four paper drawers, which means A4, A3 and your letterhead can be loaded at the same time, and they print more pages a minute.

  • A team of five or fewer: a desktop unit is normally plenty, which in practice means an A4 office printer that also copies and scans.
  • Between five and twenty staff: freestanding A3, somewhere around 25 to 35 pages per minute.
  • Over twenty staff: a quicker floor model, what the trade calls a commercial photocopier, generally fitted with a finisher and a high volume paper deck.

Check the lift, the doorways and the loading bay before the model.

Finishers and big paper trays

A finisher staples each set as it comes out, and some models will hole punch or make folded booklets as well. That suits schools putting together newsletters and agencies binding property reports. A large capacity tray carries a few thousand sheets, which saves someone refilling paper all day. Tell us what you produce and we will set the machine up to match.

Delivery, lifts and loading bays

Expect a freestanding A3 machine to be about 60 centimetres wide and deep, around 1.2 metres tall, and heavier than 80 kilograms. Before delivery day we will ask about steps, lifts, door widths and where the truck can park.

On the Coast that often means a high rise in Southport, Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, where we book the loading bay and goods lift with the building manager and work around residents in mixed use towers. Business parks at Robina, Varsity Lakes and Bundall are usually straightforward, and the industrial estates at Yatala, Molendinar and Arundel tend to have roller doors and room to move. Wherever it is going, we plan the move so your day carries on as normal. Our delivery areas.

Asked often

Floor standing copiers: what to know

How much room should I leave for a freestanding copier?

Roughly one square metre for the machine itself, and clear space in front so the doors and drawers can open fully. Add a little more if it has a finisher on the side.

Can you get a copier up the stairs to our office?

Usually. Let us know about the stairs when you enquire, and the delivery crew will come prepared with the right gear and enough hands for the job.
