OKI MC873 and ES8473 MFP on the Gold Coast

When an office has little floor to spare but still needs A3 colour, the OKI MC873 is a neat answer. In A3 colour it copies, prints and scans, at 35 pages a minute, from a body much smaller than a floor standing copier, which helps in a compact suite at Broadbeach or Robina. OKI also sold it to dealers, badged ES8473 MFP; nothing else changed. We supply it refurbished or used, and service each one.

  • Up to 35 pages a minute on A4
  • Copies, prints and scans, A3 colour

In plain terms

Launched in 2015, the MC873 is the 35 pages a minute model in OKI's MC800 series of A3 colour multifunctions. OKI's LED engine does the printing, copying and scanning both reach A3, and the machine is happy on a desk, a sturdy bench or OKI's matching stand.

Its Executive Series counterpart, the ES8473 MFP, went to market through dealers alone, and OKI's pages picture the two identically. Its sales through OKI Australia finished in December 2025, and OKI's published support runs until 31 December 2032.

The right size of business

It is for the business that wants A3 colour without giving a copier's worth of floor to it. OKI recommends keeping it to 10,000 pages a month, and its ceiling for a single busy month is 75,000. If you regularly print more, a full size A3 copier is the better fit.

Secondhand grades and how to pay

Ask us for the MC873 or ES8473 refurbished or used, and each machine comes checked, with its page count in writing before anything is signed. Buy it outright, or rent, lease or finance it over a term the machine's age decides, as long as 60 months on a younger one. Delivery, network setup and a run through for your team are part of the price anywhere from Ormeau to Tweed Heads, with scanning set up as well on a machine that scans.

With our service agreement in place, the replacement warranty lasts the whole term: if the machine fails, we replace it. The lowest rental, from $15 a week plus GST, applies to selected machines; any finance needs approval, and when a rental ends you upgrade or hand the machine back.

Four things to ask about a secondhand OKI

  • The page count, in writing. With an OKI, pages printed are a far better guide to condition than the year it was made.
  • Drum and fuser life. These parts wear with every page. Find out how far through their life each one is.
  • Options on board. Ask whether it has a stand, a duplex unit or more paper trays, since each one changes the work it suits.
  • Support, now and later. We look after every machine we supply. Before you buy, we also tell you how long OKI will keep supporting that model.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

OKI MC873: questions and answers

Is the OKI MC873 still supported by OKI?

Yes. OKI Australia finished selling it in December 2025, and its published support runs to 31 December 2032.

Are the ES8473 and MC873 the same machine?

Apart from the badge, yes. OKI supplied the ES8473 MFP to dealers; inside, it is the MC873, at the same speed.

MC873 against MC853: how do I choose?

They share a body. At 35 pages a minute against 23, the MC873 is the quicker, and OKI designs it for a heavier monthly load, so it suits the bigger team.

Could my business rent a refurbished OKI MC873?

Yes, subject to approval: over three to five years for a new machine, or over a term set by its age for a secondhand one. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST. Let us know which one you have in mind and we will send the figures in writing.
