The model itself

Of the speeds in Ricoh's MP C2004 to C2504 range, the MP C2004 is the one that does 20 pages a minute. Its single stablemate is the MP C2504, which does 25 pages a minute. Useful to know: it copes with card stock to 300 gsm. Ricoh has since brought out the IM C2000 to replace it.

The right size of business

Its natural home: a business with a handful of staff, five or fewer. For more people on the one machine, look at the MP C2504, the next step up at 25 pages a minute.

Picking a grade, then a way to pay

Secondhand, the MP C2004 comes in whichever grade suits your budget: renewed, refurbished or used. We check each one and give you its page count in writing. Rental or finance terms stretch to 60 months where the machine's age allows, and buying outright is always an option. The price covers delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team.

Bought outright without a service agreement, its warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you in writing what it is before the sale. With a service agreement, it is replaced if it fails, for the whole term. The lowest weekly rental, from $15 a week plus GST, is for selected machines, subject to approval.

Before you commit to a secondhand one

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

Ricoh MP C2004: questions and answers

Can the MP C2004 still be bought new?

Not any more: the IM C2000 took over in Ricoh's range. A secondhand one from us is checked, graded and serviced by our own team.

Is there a way to judge the wear on a secondhand MP C2004?

Yes: the page count. We put it in writing before you commit, and it is a truer guide to wear than age alone.

How do I decide between the MP C2004 and the MP C2504?

It comes down to your workload. At 20 pages a minute against 25, the two suit different team sizes; send a headcount and a rough monthly page count and we will recommend the better fit.

Is rental an option on the MP C2004?

Usually, yes, subject to approval, for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months. Weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST; the machine is serviced throughout. Rental is not hire, so there is no short booking to arrange. Ask about this model and we will put the figures in writing for you.
