The model itself

Kyocera placed the TASKalfa 6053ci in its TASKalfa 2553ci series, as the model that prints 60 pages a minute. Its stablemates, each with its pages a minute: TASKalfa 2553ci (25), TASKalfa 3253ci (32), TASKalfa 4053ci (40) and TASKalfa 5053ci (50). From the maker's own figures, it needs the optional single pass document feeder to scan at its top speed of 120 images a minute, has room for 1,150 sheets (or 7,150 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm. The model that came after it is the TASKalfa 6054ci.

Is it the right fit for your team?

It makes most sense for thirty or more people, or a print room that runs much of the day. For a quieter office, the TASKalfa 5053ci runs at 50.

Secondhand grades and how to pay

A secondhand TASKalfa 6053ci comes in one of three grades. Renewed is the top grade, with more parts replaced so it looks and runs close to new, and it costs more than refurbished. Refurbished, the most popular, is cleaned, serviced and tested, with its worn parts replaced. Used is checked and working with less work done, for the lowest outlay. Rental, a lease or finance can run for as long as 60 months if the machine's age allows, or you can buy outright. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team are in the price.

We only sell machines we can service, so every secondhand TASKalfa 6053ci we supply can go straight onto a service agreement, with toner, parts and repairs at a set cost per page and a replacement if it fails. Rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST, approval permitting.

Questions worth asking first

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

Common queries on the Kyocera TASKalfa 6053ci

Is a new TASKalfa 6053ci still available?

No. Its replacement from Kyocera is the TASKalfa 6054ci, so secondhand is now the way to get one, and every one we sell, we can service.

How many pages will a secondhand TASKalfa 6053ci have done?

Every machine is different, so you get its exact page count in writing before you buy. That number says far more about wear than the year it was built.

Is the TASKalfa 5053ci a better choice than the TASKalfa 6053ci?

Both come from the same family. The TASKalfa 6053ci prints 60 pages a minute, while the TASKalfa 5053ci prints 50, so the real question is how many people will share the machine. Give us that number and we will point you to one.

Can my business rent the TASKalfa 6053ci?

Yes, subject to approval. Rental is one regular payment under a business agreement running for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months, and at the end you upgrade to a newer machine or hand it back. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST.
