For a team that copies, prints and scans in colour, and sometimes reaches for A3, here is a machine worth weighing up. One to consider is the Kyocera TASKalfa 3253ci, an A3 colour photocopier that Kyocera rates at 32 pages a minute. You can have it renewed, close to new; refurbished, the grade most customers choose; or used, for the lowest outlay. Whichever it is, the page count comes in writing first.
Maker's own photoOf the speeds in Kyocera's TASKalfa 2553ci series, the TASKalfa 3253ci is the one that does 32 pages a minute. Sister models and their A4 speeds: TASKalfa 2553ci (25), TASKalfa 4053ci (40), TASKalfa 5053ci (50) and TASKalfa 6053ci (60). Useful to know: it needs the optional single pass document feeder to scan at its top speed of 100 images a minute, has room for 1,150 sheets (or 7,150 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm.
TASKalfa 3253ci, 32 pages a minute in colour: checked, graded and looked after by us.
As published by the maker. Each one is checked over, and you see its page count before you commit.
Its natural home: an office of somewhere between five and fifteen staff. Expecting more staff? The same family's TASKalfa 4053ci lifts the speed to 40 pages a minute. The TASKalfa 2553ci, at 25 pages a minute, is the gentler option in the family.
A secondhand TASKalfa 3253ci comes in one of three grades. Renewed is the top grade, with more parts replaced so it looks and runs close to new, and it costs more than refurbished. Refurbished, the most popular, is cleaned, serviced and tested, with its worn parts replaced. Used is checked and working with less work done, for the lowest outlay. Rental, a lease or finance can run for as long as 60 months if the machine's age allows, or you can buy outright. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team are in the price.
A secondhand machine on our service agreement has the same replacement warranty as a new one: if it fails, we replace it, for the full term. Approved rentals on the selected machines that qualify are priced from $15 a week plus GST.
Every one has a page of the maker's specifications. Ask about any and we will check what is available.
Describe the work the machine has to do, or name the model you want. We will come back with two or three that suit, each priced in writing, and the decision stays with you.

Tell us a little about your business. The reply, in writing, says if one is on hand, how many pages it has printed and what it costs. Every Gold Coast enquiry gets an answer the same business day it arrives.
Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.
The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.
Every machine is different, so you get its exact page count in writing before you buy. That number says far more about wear than the year it was built.
It comes down to your workload. At 32 pages a minute against 40, the two suit different team sizes; send a headcount and a rough monthly page count and we will recommend the better fit.
Yes, subject to approval. Rental is one regular payment under a business agreement running for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months, and at the end you upgrade to a newer machine or hand it back. Selected machines can be rented from $15 a week plus GST.
