The model itself

Konica Minolta placed the bizhub C287 in its bizhub C227 to C287 range, as the model that prints 28 pages a minute. Its single stablemate is the bizhub C227, which does 22 pages a minute. Useful to know: it needs the optional document feeder to scan at its top speed of 45 images a minute, has room for 1,100 sheets (or 3,600 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 256 gsm.

The right size of business

As a rough guide, it is sized for an office of somewhere between five and fifteen staff. Konica Minolta's recommended monthly volume is up to 13,000 pages. For a quieter office, the bizhub C227 runs at 22.

Picking a grade, then a way to pay

Choose a renewed bizhub C287 if you want one that runs close to new, refurbished for the balance most customers pick, or used to keep the outlay down. Every unit is checked first, with the page count in writing. Pay outright, or rent, lease or finance it over a term that can reach 60 months on a younger machine. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team come with it, wherever you are on the Coast.

Bought outright without a service agreement, its warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you in writing what it is before the sale. With a service agreement, it is replaced if it fails, for the whole term. The lowest weekly rental, from $15 a week plus GST, is for selected machines, subject to approval.

Four things to ask about a secondhand machine

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

What buyers want to know: Konica Minolta bizhub C287

Is there a way to judge the wear on a secondhand bizhub C287?

Yes: the page count. We put it in writing before you commit, and it is a truer guide to wear than age alone.

How many pages a month should the bizhub C287 handle?

Konica Minolta recommends keeping it within 13,000 pages a month; the rated ceiling is 28,000 in a single month.

How do I decide between the bizhub C287 and the bizhub C227?

Both come from the same family. The bizhub C287 prints 28 pages a minute, while the bizhub C227 prints 22, so the real question is how many people will share the machine. Give us that number and we will point you to one.

Is rental an option on the bizhub C287?

Usually, yes, subject to approval, for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months. Weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST; the machine is serviced throughout. Rental is not hire, so there is no short booking to arrange. Ask about this model and we will put the figures in writing for you.
