Kyocera placed the ECOSYS MA4000wifx in its ECOSYS MA A4 mono range, as the model that prints 40 pages a minute. Its stablemates, each with its pages a minute: ECOSYS MA3501wfx (35), ECOSYS MA4000x (40), ECOSYS MA4000fx (40), ECOSYS MA4500fx (45), ECOSYS MA4500ifx (45), ECOSYS MA5500ifx (55) and ECOSYS MA6000ifx (60). According to Kyocera, it reads both sides of a double sided original in one pass, at as many as 40 images a minute and has room for 350 sheets (or 850 with extra paper options). Kyocera Australia still has it in the current lineup.

Where it fits best

As a rough guide, it is sized for a team of up to ten or so that rarely, if ever, needs A3. Plan on no more than 2,000 pages a month, which is the volume Kyocera recommends. Expecting more staff? The same family's ECOSYS MA4500fx lifts the speed to 45 pages a minute. The ECOSYS MA3501wfx, at 35 pages a minute, is the gentler option in the family.

Ordered new, the ECOSYS MA4000wifx reaches your business with the maker's warranty and with delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team already in the price. Most machines are installed within about a week of signing; if this one has to be ordered in, you hear the timing before you sign.

Outright purchase, rental, a lease or other finance all work, with anything financed subject to approval, and some businesses pay by the page under a managed print agreement. With our service agreement in place, a machine that fails is replaced for as long as the agreement runs, and weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.
