Of the speeds in Kyocera's ECOSYS MA A4 mono range, the ECOSYS MA5500ifx is the one that does 55 pages a minute. Kyocera built the same family at other speeds too: ECOSYS MA3501wfx (35), ECOSYS MA4000x (40), ECOSYS MA4000fx (40), ECOSYS MA4000wifx (40), ECOSYS MA4500fx (45), ECOSYS MA4500ifx (45) and ECOSYS MA6000ifx (60), in pages a minute. From the maker's own figures, it reads both sides of a double sided original in one pass, at as many as 60 images a minute and has room for 600 sheets (or 2,600 with extra paper options). Kyocera Australia still has it in the current lineup.

The right size of business

It makes most sense for thirty or more people, or a print room that runs much of the day. Kyocera's guide is to keep it under 16,700 pages a month. For more people on the one machine, look at the ECOSYS MA6000ifx, the next step up at 60 pages a minute. If your team prints less, compare it with the ECOSYS MA4500ifx, which manages 45 pages a minute.

Getting one new on the Coast

Buy it new and the maker's warranty applies, which on a new machine usually means 12 months on the hardware, though not on consumables. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team sit inside the price.

Outright purchase, rental, a lease or other finance all work, with anything financed subject to approval, and some businesses pay by the page under a managed print agreement. With our service agreement in place, a machine that fails is replaced for as long as the agreement runs, and weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST.
