Secondhand Lexmark CX923dte on the Gold Coast

If your business prints colour on A3 as well as A4, and scans every day, this is the class of machine to look at. One to consider is the Lexmark CX923dte, an A3 colour photocopier that Lexmark rates at 55 pages a minute. Fax is built in as standard, too. You can have it renewed, close to new; refurbished, the grade most customers choose; or used, for the lowest outlay. Whichever it is, the page count comes in writing first.

What you are getting

Lexmark placed the CX923dte (first released in 2017) in its CX92x series, as the model that prints 55 pages a minute. Lexmark built the same family at other speeds too: CX920de (25), CX921de (35), CX922de (45), CX923dxe (55) and CX924dxe (65), in pages a minute. From the maker's own figures, it reads both sides of a double sided original in one pass, at as many as 80 images a minute, has room for 2,150 sheets (or 5,150 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm.

Where it fits best

As a rough guide, it is sized for thirty or more people, or a print room that runs much of the day. Plan on no more than 50,000 pages a month, which is the volume Lexmark recommends. If the business is growing, the CX924dxe gives you 65 pages a minute in the same family. For a quieter office, the CX922de runs at 45.

Picking a grade, then a way to pay

A secondhand CX923dte comes in one of three grades. Renewed is the top grade, with more parts replaced so it looks and runs close to new, and it costs more than refurbished. Refurbished, the most popular, is cleaned, serviced and tested, with its worn parts replaced. Used is checked and working with less work done, for the lowest outlay. Rental, a lease or finance can run for as long as 60 months if the machine's age allows, or you can buy outright. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team are in the price.

A secondhand machine on our service agreement has the same replacement warranty as a new one: if it fails, we replace it, for the full term. Approved rentals on the selected machines that qualify are priced from $15 a week plus GST.

Four things to ask about a secondhand machine

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

Common queries on the Lexmark CX923dte

Is there a way to judge the wear on a secondhand CX923dte?

Yes: the page count. We put it in writing before you commit, and it is a truer guide to wear than age alone.

How many pages a month should the CX923dte handle?

Lexmark recommends keeping it within 50,000 pages a month; the rated ceiling is 250,000 in a single month.

How do I decide between the CX923dte and the CX924dxe?

Both come from the same family. The CX923dte prints 55 pages a minute, while the CX924dxe prints 65, so the real question is how many people will share the machine. Give us that number and we will point you to one.

Is rental an option on the CX923dte?

Usually, yes, subject to approval, for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months. Weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST; the machine is serviced throughout. Rental is not hire, so there is no short booking to arrange. Ask about this model and we will put the figures in writing for you.
