In plain terms

Of the speeds in Konica Minolta's bizhub C450i to C650i range, the bizhub C550i is the one that does 55 pages a minute. Sister models and their A4 speeds: bizhub C450i (45) and bizhub C650i (65). Useful to know: it reads both sides of a double sided original in one pass, at as many as 140 images a minute, has room for 1,150 sheets (or 6,650 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm. Konica Minolta has since brought out the bizhub C551i to replace it.

The right size of business

Its natural home: thirty or more people, or a print room that runs much of the day. Plan on no more than 50,000 pages a month, which is the volume Konica Minolta recommends. Expecting more staff? The same family's bizhub C650i lifts the speed to 65 pages a minute. For a quieter office, the bizhub C450i runs at 45.

Secondhand grades and how to pay

Secondhand, the bizhub C550i comes in whichever grade suits your budget: renewed, refurbished or used. We check each one and give you its page count in writing. Rental or finance terms stretch to 60 months where the machine's age allows, and buying outright is always an option. The price covers delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team.

Bought outright without a service agreement, its warranty depends on the machine, and we tell you in writing what it is before the sale. With a service agreement, it is replaced if it fails, for the whole term. The lowest weekly rental, from $15 a week plus GST, is for selected machines, subject to approval.

Questions worth asking first

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

Common queries on the Konica Minolta bizhub C550i

Is a new bizhub C550i still available?

No. Its replacement from Konica Minolta is the bizhub C551i, so secondhand is now the way to get one, and every one we sell, we can service.

How many pages will a secondhand bizhub C550i have done?

Every machine is different, so you get its exact page count in writing before you buy. That number says far more about wear than the year it was built.

What workload is the bizhub C550i designed for?

Konica Minolta recommends keeping it within 50,000 pages a month; the rated ceiling is 200,000 in a single month.

Is the bizhub C650i a better choice than the bizhub C550i?

Both come from the same family. The bizhub C550i prints 55 pages a minute, while the bizhub C650i prints 65, so the real question is how many people will share the machine. Give us that number and we will point you to one.
