The model itself

Of the speeds in Konica Minolta's bizhub C258 to C368 range, the bizhub C308 is the one that does 30 pages a minute. Its stablemates, each with its pages a minute: bizhub C258 (25) and bizhub C368 (36). From the maker's own figures, it needs the optional single pass document feeder to scan at its top speed of 80 images a minute, has room for 1,150 sheets (or 6,650 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm. The model that came after it is the bizhub C300i.

The right size of business

Its natural home: an office of somewhere between five and fifteen staff. Konica Minolta's guide is to keep it under 16,000 pages a month. For more people on the one machine, look at the bizhub C368, the next step up at 36 pages a minute. If your team prints less, compare it with the bizhub C258, which manages 25 pages a minute.

Picking a grade, then a way to pay

Choose a renewed bizhub C308 if you want one that runs close to new, refurbished for the balance most customers pick, or used to keep the outlay down. Every unit is checked first, with the page count in writing. Pay outright, or rent, lease or finance it over a term that can reach 60 months on a younger machine. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team come with it, wherever you are on the Coast.

A secondhand machine on our service agreement has the same replacement warranty as a new one: if it fails, we replace it, for the full term. Approved rentals on the selected machines that qualify are priced from $15 a week plus GST.

Four things to ask about a secondhand machine

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

Konica Minolta bizhub C308: questions and answers

Can the bizhub C308 still be bought new?

Not any more: the bizhub C300i took over in Konica Minolta's range. A secondhand one from us is checked, graded and serviced by our own team.

Is there a way to judge the wear on a secondhand bizhub C308?

Yes: the page count. We put it in writing before you commit, and it is a truer guide to wear than age alone.

How many pages a month should the bizhub C308 handle?

Konica Minolta recommends keeping it within 16,000 pages a month; the rated ceiling is 100,000 in a single month.

How do I decide between the bizhub C308 and the bizhub C368?

It comes down to your workload. At 30 pages a minute against 36, the two suit different team sizes; send a headcount and a rough monthly page count and we will recommend the better fit.
