Secondhand Ricoh IM 2500 on the Gold Coast

Trades and construction offices printing plans, rosters and forms in black and white, sometimes on A3, are the businesses this kind of machine is made for. Ricoh's IM 2500 fits that brief: an A3 mono photocopier with an A4 speed of 25 pages a minute. We supply it secondhand in three grades, renewed, refurbished and used, and every unit is checked with its page count put in writing for you.

  • Up to 25 pages a minute on A4
  • Copies, prints and scans, A3 black and white
  • Secondhand: renewed, refurbished, used
  • Replacement warranty with our service agreement

The model itself

Ricoh placed the IM 2500 in its IM 2500 to 6000 range, as the model that prints 25 pages a minute. Ricoh built the same family at other speeds too: IM 3000 (30), IM 3500 (35), IM 4000 (40), IM 5000 (50) and IM 6000 (60), in pages a minute. According to Ricoh, it reads both sides of a double sided original in one pass, at as many as 120 images a minute, has room for 1,200 sheets (or 4,700 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm. The model that came after it is the IM 2510.

The right size of business

It makes most sense for a business with a handful of staff, five or fewer. If the business is growing, the IM 3000 gives you 30 pages a minute in the same family.

Secondhand grades and how to pay

A secondhand IM 2500 comes in one of three grades. Renewed is the top grade, with more parts replaced so it looks and runs close to new, and it costs more than refurbished. Refurbished, the most popular, is cleaned, serviced and tested, with its worn parts replaced. Used is checked and working with less work done, for the lowest outlay. Rental, a lease or finance can run for as long as 60 months if the machine's age allows, or you can buy outright. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team are in the price.

We only sell machines we can service, so every secondhand IM 2500 we supply can go straight onto a service agreement, with toner, parts and repairs at a set cost per page and a replacement if it fails. Rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST, approval permitting.

Questions worth asking first

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

Common queries on the Ricoh IM 2500

Can the IM 2500 still be bought new?

Not any more: the IM 2510 took over in Ricoh's range. A secondhand one from us is checked, graded and serviced by our own team.

Is there a way to judge the wear on a secondhand IM 2500?

Yes: the page count. We put it in writing before you commit, and it is a truer guide to wear than age alone.

How do I decide between the IM 2500 and the IM 3000?

Both come from the same family. The IM 2500 prints 25 pages a minute, while the IM 3000 prints 30, so the real question is how many people will share the machine. Give us that number and we will point you to one.

Is rental an option on the IM 2500?

Usually, yes, subject to approval, for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months. Weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST; the machine is serviced throughout. Rental is not hire, so there is no short booking to arrange. Ask about this model and we will put the figures in writing for you.
