Secondhand Sharp MX 3071 on the Gold Coast

If your business prints colour on A3 as well as A4, and scans every day, this is the class of machine to look at. Sharp's MX 3071 fits that brief: an A3 colour photocopier with an A4 speed of 30 pages a minute. You can have it renewed, close to new; refurbished, the grade most customers choose; or used, for the lowest outlay. Whichever it is, the page count comes in writing first.

  • Up to 30 pages a minute on A4
  • Copies, prints and scans, A3 colour
  • Secondhand: renewed, refurbished, used

In plain terms

Sharp placed the MX 3071 (a 2018 model) in its MX 3071 series, as the model that prints 30 pages a minute. Sharp built the same family at other speeds too: MX 3571 (35), MX 4071 (40), MX 5071 (50) and MX 6071 (60), in pages a minute. According to Sharp, it reads both sides of a double sided original in one pass, at as many as 110 images a minute, has room for 650 sheets (or 6,300 with extra paper options) and copes with card stock to 300 gsm.

The right size of business

It makes most sense for an office of somewhere between five and fifteen staff. Expecting more staff? The same family's MX 3571 lifts the speed to 35 pages a minute.

Picking a grade, then a way to pay

A secondhand MX 3071 comes in one of three grades. Renewed is the top grade, with more parts replaced so it looks and runs close to new, and it costs more than refurbished. Refurbished, the most popular, is cleaned, serviced and tested, with its worn parts replaced. Used is checked and working with less work done, for the lowest outlay. Rental, a lease or finance can run for as long as 60 months if the machine's age allows, or you can buy outright. Delivery, setup on your network, scanning setup and a run through for your team are in the price.

A secondhand machine on our service agreement has the same replacement warranty as a new one: if it fails, we replace it, for the full term. Approved rentals on the selected machines that qualify are priced from $15 a week plus GST.

Before you commit to a secondhand one

  • The page count. Ask for it in writing; we give it before you sign. Pages printed tell you more about wear than the year a machine was made.
  • The options on it. Find out what is attached, such as a stapling finisher, more paper drawers or a high capacity feeder. Each one changes the jobs it suits and the figure you pay.
  • Who looks after it. A machine nobody can repair is no bargain, however little it costs. We only sell what we can service ourselves, everywhere we deliver.
  • The running cost. Have the black and white and colour page rates put in writing, along with what each rate includes.

Replacement warranty

A machine that fails is replaced. Through to the final month.

Any machine we look after on a service agreement comes under our replacement warranty, whatever its age and however you paid for it. Rented, leased, financed or bought outright, new or secondhand: if it fails, we replace it. Cover runs for the whole term of the agreement, through to its final month.

The maker's warranty on a new copier normally lasts 12 months and takes in the hardware; consumables are not part of it. Past that first year, your protection comes from the service agreement. Every detail of the replacement warranty is set down in your agreement.

Asked often

What buyers want to know: Sharp MX 3071

Is there a way to judge the wear on a secondhand MX 3071?

Yes: the page count. We put it in writing before you commit, and it is a truer guide to wear than age alone.

How do I decide between the MX 3071 and the MX 3571?

It comes down to your workload. At 30 pages a minute against 35, the two suit different team sizes; send a headcount and a rough monthly page count and we will recommend the better fit.

Is rental an option on the MX 3071?

Usually, yes, subject to approval, for a term the machine's age allows, up to 60 months. Weekly rental on selected machines is from $15 a week plus GST; the machine is serviced throughout. Rental is not hire, so there is no short booking to arrange. Ask about this model and we will put the figures in writing for you.
